PhilippinesFrom the track to the hardwood, the fairway to the Formula 1 grid, PUMA has been making major waves across both local and global athletic landscape as it persists in championing national and international athletes. Its strong, ubiquitous presence in various sports fields reflects a deep-rooted commitment to performance and innovation, to build up Filipino and global athletes for victory.

Here’s how PUMA is winning in sports, one field at a time:

1. Running the Distance

In 2021, PUMA strengthened its presence in the running scene when it introduced the RUN PUMA line powered by NITROFOAM™ technology. And this year, PUMA upped its influence in running as it launched the “Go Wild” global campaign. “Go Wild” invites everyday runners to unleash their inner energy and chase the emotional highs from pushing their limits. It inspires them to let go, trust their instincts, and embrace their authenticity, confidence, and playful spirit.

To amplify the campaign in the Philippines, PUMA tapped 4 elite running athletes, Jonna Lina Abutas and Beef Co, as well as national athletes Christine Hallasgo and Junel Gobotia.

Abutas has scored first place wins in many 10k and 21k races including the Women’s Run Asia in 2024 and the Milo Marathon. A rising “runfluencer,” Co has is determined to reach peak performance without compromising his well-being. He competed in the 2024 Hyrox Open Incheon and placed second for his age group. During the Southeast Asian (SEA) Games in 2019, Hallasgo hit the ground running when she bagged gold for her debut appearance on home turf. She set a new personal best record just last March when she competed at the 20th Asian Marathon Championships in China. Meanwhile, Gobotia continues to dominate the Steeplechase scene in the Philippines as he dominated the 3000M Steeplechase event at the 2024 Philippine National Games.

2. Dominating the Hardcourt

PUMA has cemented its formidable presence in basketball, from the collegiate hardwood to the NBA spotlight. It hit the UAAP scene in 2022 when the FEU Tamaraws Men’s Basketball Team debuted new team jerseys bearing the iconic PUMA logo. In 2023, PUMA introduced the PUMA Hoops Squad with standout UAAP players who exemplify hardcourt excellence powered by their skill, passion, and relentless pursuit for greatness.

Last year, DLSU Green Archers’ Lian Ramiro, UP Fighting Maroons’ Quentin Millora-Brown, FEU Tamaraws’ Jedric Daa, UE Red Warriors’ Precious Momowei, Adamson Falcons’ Austin and Cade Ronzone, and UST Growling Tigers’ Zain Mahmood joined the PUMA Hoops Squad. These UAAP players donned PUMA Hoops gear during their respective UAAP games. UP’s Big Man Quentin Millora-Brown scored the winning free throws to clinch the title for the men in maroon while rocking the PUMA MB.04s.

On the international stage, NBA star Tyrese Haliburton of the Indiana Pacers was named the newest face of PUMA Hoops in 2024, joining Charlotte Hornets guard LaMelo Ball. PUMA designed player-exclusive All-Pro Nitros with Haliburton in an all-gold colorway, which was released last February.

3. Bringing PHenomenal Pride to the Pitch

PUMA reinforced its football roots when the Philippine Men’s National Football Team (PMNFT)’s started their ASEAN Mitsubishi Electric Cup campaign donning the brand-new kits designed by sportswear brand. During the first leg of the semi-final match, the PMNFT defeated Thailand for the first time in 52 years while wearing their home kit from PUMA. Designed with PUMA’s CLOUDSPUN fabric, dryCELL performance technology, with at least 95% recycled materials, the PMNFT home kit paid homage to vintage kits worn by the national team. The PMNFT wore the same kits when they won against Maldives during the AFC Asian Cup qualification match last March.

Aside from vintage kits circa 90s and early 2000s, the PUMA designed kits paid tribute to the Filipino spirit with designs inspired by the Filipinos’ strength and resilience.

4. Swinging with Pros on the Fairways

This 2025, PUMA has been making a splash on the greens with Filipino golfers and PUMA ambassadors Sam Bruce and Miguel Tabuena. Bruce, who went pro in 2023, claimed her first pro at the 2025 ICTSI Pradera Verde Championship in February. She is also a three-time All-Conference, four-time WGCA Academic All American, and Seattle University Athlete of the Year. Bruce has also made history as the first Filipina nominated for the NCAA Woman of the Year Award.

Tabuena, on the other hand, opened strong at the International Series (IS) Macau and ultimately finished at 14th place. With 3 titles and 40 top-ten finishes across 196 Asian Tour matches, he is one of the Philippines’ most decorated golfers. In 2016, Tabuena was named Sportsman of the Year by the Philippine Sportswriters Association along with boxing legends Donnie Nietes and Nonito Donaire.

5. Fueling Performance on the Speedway

PUMA is racing ahead in Formula 1 with Scuderia Ferrari F1 drivers and PUMA ambassadors Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton. Last year, PUMA signed Leclerc and dropped a special collection of his top PUMA gear picks. This included the PUMA Speedcat in leather, Suede XL, PUMA Palermo, and Scuderia Ferrari apparel with Leclerc’s car number and team logo emblazoned on them. The collection also featured the Scuderia Ferrari HP RBD sneakers, with the team’s colors as accents, the Ferrari logo on the tongue, and the iconic PUMA formstrip along the sides.

Ever the style icon, Hamilton turned heads when he wore the Scuderia Ferrari X PUMA Speedcat Pro for the first day of Formula 1 pre-season testing. With 7 championship titles and F1 records for wins, pole positions, and podium finishes, Hamilton brought the Speedcat back to its racing roots, just as he did in 2021 with his limited-edition Speedcat Pro Spectra boots. Beyond its partnership with the famed F1 drivers, PUMA is now the official provider for Formula 1 under a multi-year deal.

6. Reaching New Heights on the Field

PUMA has soared to the top in the world of Pole Vaulting with Olympic Pole Vaulters EJ Obiena and Mondo Duplantis. Obiena recently won gold at the Meeting Metz Moselle Athletor in France and won silver at the International Jump Meeting Cottbus 2025 in Germany.

During his stint at the Paris 2024 Olympics, Obiena was spotted wearing the PUMA Deviate NITRO™ 3.

Duplantis continues to break records, clearing 6.25 meters for gold medal at the Paris Olympics, then topping his own mark with 6.27m at the 2025 Mondo Classic in Sweden. He retained his world indoor pole vault title after competing in Nanjing. In all his winning moments, Duplantis is seen representing PUMA on the global arena. Eyeing to clear 6.40m soon, the two-time Olympic champion is just getting started.

Across various sports fields in different continents, PUMA is proving that winning is not just about the medals or moments. PUMA’s wins come from the powering 407 and making meaningful connections with athletes who inspire.
