PHILIPPINES – Renowned Hollywood stuntman and Red Bull Air Force legend Miles Daisher created a milestone moment for Thailand’s growing extreme sports scene with the first-ever wingsuit jump in Bangkok. Daisher’s latest feat signals an exciting new era for Thailand, highlighting the country’s emerging potential as a premier destination for adventure sports.

Soaring to New Heights in Bangkok

The city skyline of Thailand’s capital city was the perfect backdrop for this historical pursuit. Daisher leapt from a plane high above the city, soaring past the famous lebua Bangkok, an iconic location in Bangkok featured in the Hollywood hit, “The Hangover: Part II.” The hotel is also known for the Sky Bar & Sirocco, whose gold dome is seen from anywhere across the city. He then landed with pinpoint accuracy on a moving cruise along the Chao Phraya River. The spectacular feat offered a jaw-dropping perspective of Bangkok’s stunning views, which will surely wow both local and international crowds.

“To me, Thailand is a BASE jumper’s paradise, and performing this inaugural flight required an open-minded city’s perspective to allow us to do this kind of thing,” said Daisher of his momentous leap. “Urban environments are unique because the wind gets funky around the buildings, creating turbulent air and eddies similar to a rock in a river. Because Bangkok is such a busy city with a lot of congestion, we had to dive to build speed and then flatten our trajectory to ensure we made the distance to the river. We were so focused on sticking the shot and ultimately landed with precision on the boat,” he added.

The historic achievement was made possible through a collaboration between the European energy drink brand Red Bull (Blue & Silver) and the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), a partnership grounded in respect for the country’s culture and natural beauty. More than pushing the boundaries of extreme sports in Southeast Asia, the project showcased Thailand as a world-class destination for adventure.

“The idea for the first-ever wingsuit jump came about through a shared vision of ‘pushing boundaries,’” said Nithee Seeprae, Deputy Governor for Marketing Communications at the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT). “By taking a sport usually reserved for remote mountains and bringing it to the heart of our urban skyline, we created a visual metaphor for Thailand’s evolution: a destination that respects its heritage but remains fearless about the future.”

“As the world’s first vertical destination, we have always believed that extraordinary experiences deserve an extraordinary stage,” said Narawadee Bualert, President & CEO of lebua Bangkok. “This collaboration is proof that lebua is not just part of Bangkok’s skyline; it is where the world’s most iconic moments choose to land.”

For Daisher, this first-ever wingsuit flight over Thailand’s bustling capital was more than just another record. The country holds a deep personal significance for the veteran athlete, rooted in his first visit to Southeast Asia with his wife, Nikki.

“The first time I ever came to Southeast Asia was to Thailand with my wife, and she was pregnant with our daughter at the time. It has always held a special place in my heart, and to return now to fly past these buildings was a dream come true,” said Daisher. “Between the incredible architecture, the food, and the friendly culture, this country is a BASE jumper’s paradise. It was an honor to finally find the right time and place to share this party in the sky with the world.”

From Hollywood Stunts to Global World Records

Daisher is one of the most prolific aerial athletes in history with over 12,000 successful jumps to his name. His elite precision has made him one of the go-to action stuntmen in Hollywood. He is credited with personally coaching and training Tom Cruise for the historic motorcycle BASE jump in Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning and performed the iconic “Barrel of Monkeys” mid-air rescue in Marvel’s Iron Man 3. Beyond his stunt work in films like Human Flight 3D, Daisher is a serial record breaker who cemented his legacy in 2017 by completing a world record 63 BASE jumps in a single 24 hour period.

Looking Beyond the Skyline

Fresh off his epic, history-making flight over Bangkok, Daisher shows no signs of slowing down. The Red Bull Air Force athlete claims this is only the beginning of his adventure in the country.

“To actually fly past the lebua Bangkok was a dream come true, especially being a huge fan of The Hangover movie. I was just picturing those guys having that conversation on the stairs as we flew by,” said Daisher when asked about his most memorable moment. “This historic feat was a collaborative triumph, and the support from the Tourism Authority of Thailand, local authorities, and my Red Bull family was everything. I can’t say thank you enough for the opportunity to share our dreams with the world.”

Driven by a pursuit of extreme adventure, Daisher is already eyeing his next chapter to showcase the country’s diversity.
“I want to keep exploring! You see all those sea cliffs on the beaches that just stick straight up out of the water? That’s where I want to go next. I want to go back to Railay Beach and Tonsai, check out those rocks, and really dial in a new project there.”

Aside from cementing his position in history, Daisher’s Bangkok flight has opened a new chapter in extreme sports for the Southeast Asian region. It serves as an invitation for travelers and thrill-seekers like Daisher to chase their own adventures across Thailand’s stunning terrain.
